Sedation Dentistry

Many people avoid endodontic treatment out of fear and anxiety. At Endodontics Inc., we want to relieve your fears and concerns and provide you with a truly comfortable experience. That is why we offer sedation dentistry for stress-free endodontic treatment. Sedation dentistry is the perfect choice for those who experience dental anxiety to completely relax during their appointment. It also helps patients who have difficulty controlling their gag reflex, experience pain because of sensitive teeth, or do not respond well to numbing medications. Sedation is effective and extremely safe. Our dentists are specially trained to offer you sedation and closely monitor your progress during your dental treatment. We offer two types of sedation dentistry at our offices: oral conscious sedation and nitrous oxide.

With oral conscious sedation, the patient takes a pill prior to treatment. Oral conscious sedation leaves you able to speak and breathe on your own. You won't actually be asleep, but you will feel sleepy. You will be comfortable and feel virtually no pain while we provide you with the treatment you need. You will enjoy a heightened state of relaxation and probably won't remember much about the procedure afterwards. You will need to have someone with you at your visit to take you to and from the office as you may be drowsy, and you should not drive while taking oral sedation.

Nitrous oxide / oxygen is a safe, effective sedative agent used in dentistry to calm a patient's fear of the dental visit and enhance effective communication. Under nitrous oxide you remain conscious and able to breathe on your own, with a sense of total well-being (euphoria). Patients generally recover quickly, and can leave the office by themselves, without an escort. Nitrous oxide / oxygen is perhaps the safest sedative in dentistry. It is well tolerated. It has a rapid onset, is reversible, can be adjusted in various concentrations and is non-allergenic. The patient remains fully conscious and keeps all natural reflexes when breathing nitrous oxide / oxygen.

Please contact us prior to your visit if you have any questions or are interested in having sedation during your procedure.
